End of Year Decemberation!

Our last meetup of 2012. Hopefully everyone can make it as the impending Mayan predicted apocolypse is coming and I’d hate to not say goodbye to everyone before it happens.

This meetup has a pending guest speaker (details are being worked out) Joe Hsu will be presenting on Ruby 2.0, and there will be a social event where we can do some planning and discussion for the time to come.

Additionally, we received a message from the building folks where EY Buffalo is located:

For this holiday season, donations are being accepted for the benefit of the Lee Gross Anthone Child Advocacy Center (CAC), a program of Child & Adolescent Services of Buffalo. CAC provides onsite medical care to children who have been abused, once they are removed from their abusive situation. Some of the children suffer from neglect, homelessness and extreme poverty. Many of these children (500-600 per year) come to CAC with nothing but what they are wearing.

Until December 17th, there will be donation bins in the lobbies of 100, 300 and 500 Corporate Parkway. Needed items include brushes, combs, scrunchies, hair ties, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, shampoos and lotions. These items will be put into care packages to be distributed to the children when they are brought to the center.
